I have $1,000 worth of credit card debt, which I plan to pay stale in full tomorrow. I'm in my untimely twenties and don't have much credit - what I do have is riddled next to late payments because I'm a poor student. How should I go almost building my credit up? The more detailed the better - thanks!
remember to preserve your credits cards below 35% of your max allowed balance otherwise you'll be penalized credit win points.
Late payments can add up to so much money...like $30.00 a clip every time you're behind and plus the finance charges on top of that. Make sure you generate the minimum payment due to avoid this. You may have to shorten yourself or cut corners somehow. this is how you can build your credit back up by being in good time with your payments. It's hard but it can be done. I'm not sure if you own just 1 card or several but if you have more than 1 you can probably do consolidation and put together it one payment instead of 2 or 3.

Answer:
This first step to building your credit is understanding how your credit chalk up is calculated. There is a lot of good information on MyFICO.com that should give support to you.

35% of your credit score is your payment history. So, making payments in good time (and even paying more than the minimum payment) should help.

There is no quick-fix; it will take time to redo a credit file that was shabby from late payments (which negatively impact credit). Late payments are a sure way to verbs credit, so you will want to avoid that in the future.

You should also procure your free copy of your credit report each year to make sure everything on your credit report is accurate. If you find errors, you can dispute them through respectively of the credit bureaus' website (see below).
