near is no best.. just what is best for your requirements. It could be the customer service (if you have frequent issues), the convenience of their branch or ATM locations, their rates if you own a savings or lucky to achieve a checking account next to interest, or if they pay foreign ATM fees for you which is nice...

For me the best is USAA but they are constrained to who can join.
