Sounds resembling you have be taken by a con-merchant.

Typical Cheque Cashing scam operates resembling this :-

The Nigerian scam merchant 'recruits' a victim surrounded by UK to 'cash cheques' for him.

You 'receive' commission ... typically 10-20% ... and 'forward' (usually via Western Union) the balance to him ...

Shock Horror .. after you own 'cashed' the first few they start to 'bounce' (in fact, every one is a forgery / stolen / fake) ... but you hold already sent on the balance ...
The customer's check bounced? if so , you take zip , until it clears, if it clears . Standard practice .

I be assuming your were speaking of some sort of sale job , not a "Nigerian" scam .

Sooooo, Lucy ,... you get some 'splainin' to do , if you want answers that might help . ;D
Do not know the question the agency you have worded it.
Clearly, you know what you are taking give or take a few but the rest of us are in the unlit...what is your question.
Has this something to do next to e-bay ?
