you dont requirement money. Before any collections agency begins a process of collecting money they will convey you a writen notice of the picture and ask if you'd like to resist it. DO IT. Send them a notice stating the details is incorrect and it isnt your account.

hang on to track of your credit report, if it shows up, challenge it from the credit beureos (Equafax, Transunion, and Experian) Im SURE they hold a phone service where you can telephone call and challenge it. Their websites are their name and .com (Experian.com, etc).

You might be able to draw from the police into this issue, maybe someone else can answer the police chunk...
