Items dropping stale credit report? I have some items that are far elder then 7 years still

I have some items that are far elder then 7 years still showing up on my credit report. They are devout things so im not complaining but I was lower than the impression that they dropped rotten after 7 years. Is this not true? What about desperate items? And who decided between the two. When you look at the credit report, they will tell you how tons negatives you own on your credit. Anything more than 7 years old can be disputed and removed. The credit reporting agencies don't pro-actively drop everything 7+ years ripened. You have to dispute it stating this is 7+ years ancient. Note the 7 years start from date of first delinquency. Nothing resets this clock.
Basically worthy and bad items are supposed to come sour after 7 or more years. But the credit bureau does not monitor this. You definitely don't want the positive information to come sour at all, the longer it stays on in that the better. But most of the time with glum information, you have to contact the credit bureau and request this information to be delete due to the 7 year statute of limitation. This go for bad/negative items and older items. If the items are elder and in upright standing don't dispute them off. Just rob care of the negative.

Answers:    The FTC is the entity that come up with the FCRA.

Negative information will remain on a individuals report for 7 to 7 1/2 years.
The FTC has allowed the CRA's to report negative for the extra 1/2 year for the simple reason that the true compliance date may be unknown.
If a entity disputes the account at, or in close proximity, the 7 year mark as ancient, then it may be removed.
A character has a right to dispute a cynical at any time if it is reporting inaccurately. If it is not corrected within the time allowed afterwards it must be removed until it is corrected (though at times it is difficult to make the CRA's follow the regulation in that aspect)

A positive closed description will remain on a persons report for 10 years, or longer if the creditor continues to report it.
Some general public are very fortunate contained by having positive closed accounts report for 15/20 years, or longer
