Is it possible to set things up so that a individual can't achieve any credit cards? My friend has a brother who have some mental health issues: sometimes

My friend has a brother who have some mental health issues: sometimes he is competent to hold down a job, sometimes not, etc. His brother have racked up a lot of debt. He'd approaching to loan his brother the money to pay it past its sell-by date, but he's afraid that the guy would just run up his cards again. Is near any way to prevent him from getting any brand new cards or making any new charges? I tight, assuming that his brother is willing to cooperate? He know he has a problem and doesn't hold enough self control.

Answers:    I don't know how a being could prevent him from going behind your final and re-applying for another credit card. Maybe a lawyer know something I don't but I doubt it. The most a person could do is study him like a hawk, checking his letters, and if a new card would surface, take home a call to the credit card company. Even that may not work because they would probally vote, you don't have the authority to retract it. Its a real dilemma. Had a friend that go through the same point that had son that have mental issues. If the charges get doomed to failure enough, and he have mental issues, I 'm not sure the credit card company could legally hold him responsible. They can't gain blood out of a turnip.
No...as long as he is an adult next no one can prevent him from running up debt again. Even taking the cards or have him destroy them will not prevent him from applying for clean ones. Encourage him to go to Consumer Credit Couselling...they will work next to the brother and his creditors to get the debt down, after will teach him how to knob credit...but HE will have to do the work. It's the best road because if people verbs to bail him out he won't learn...serve him by having him travel for the help
I'll be blunt and honest No. There is no legitimate way for you to do what you asked.
