I'm trying to repair my credit. What percentage are creditors prepared to settle for? Some things on my credit are over 7 years old and I
It would probably be a accurate idea to have a chat to a credit counselor for more specific help. Clearly what I am trying to describe you is even if you pay them, in need their agreement to (pay to delete), this information will still be on your credit bureau, further damaging your credit, and you will enjoy let contained by your pocket. So, do your research first, so you can make the best edict.
I am not an expert at this in one piece credit thing, but I am picking up a few things. From my knowledge every state has a Statute of Limitations, of how long creditors can still come after you for a debt. That date starts from the date of your first delinquency. But if you contact the company and try to set up a reimbursement plan, or anything else basically axiom you will pay, I believe it starts the full process over for you. If things on your credit report have reach the statute of limitations for your state, you may be able to convey them a certified letter, to logically let them know that they hold reached the sol to collect, and ask them to stop and desist any further action and remove it from your credit report. Again I am not expert but these are a few things I be taught contained by the past couple of months. Just to be undisputed search throughout the Internet.
Offer them 50 cents on the dollar and work from in that *wink*
First off, if the items are over 7 years outmoded they should not be on your credit report. Sorry DAS, the FCRA states that the 7 year period begin at the date of first delinquency and cannot be legally reaged below any circumstances.
Also do like video production suggested and check the statute of limitations for your state to see if you even hold a legal prerequisite to pay anymore.
Answers: If you get a pair, .27 cents on the dollar. Most will average around .40 cents though. My first interview is, if they are more than seven years old, why try to payment it off? I be in awe of your honesty and integrity, but I would think they would hold written off the old-fashioned debt by now,, and perchance sold it to a third party collection agency. In that grip, paying it off will do nil as you will NOT be satisfying the resourceful creditor. If they ARE the original creditor, and they are still reporting it on a regular proof, I'll bet it's a lot more than $500. At seven years antediluvian, they will be happy to win anything from you, but I would make sure of who you are paying first.
