I bought a broken saloon? I bought a car 2 weeks ago from an independent peddler.
I bought a car 2 weeks ago from an independent peddler. The seller a moment ago put $700 worth of work into it repairing the timing belt, alternator belt, and other things. A week after my purchase the car started making noise and driving poorly. I took it in right away. Apparently I needed a contemporary water pump. Upon replacing the sea pump the mechanic found that the timing belt was timed incorrectly cause the tensioner to fail. I very soon needed to replace the timing belt and the tensioner which was purely worked on less than 200 miles ago. The belt be under warranty from the first mechanic but that didn't work out because I took it to a different mechanic than the previous owner did. So I finished up having to fork out $1000 for these repairs individual 2 weeks after my purchase. Is there anything I can do to carry some of my money back? Its 98' next to 111,000 miles on it. I understand things will fall short but why should I have to salary for the poor work of the first mechanic?
