I have a Discover card that is 5 months historic due and a Beneficial loan that is almost 6 months past due. How long until they shift to collections outside of the company?

Answers:    Depends on the company. Some companies have in-house collections. Typically credit cards write off default accounts around the 6 month mark. That's usually when the debt gets sold bad to a collection agency. That's along time for that to be ancient due

normally 3 months . These companies should of called
or write you a memo . Maybe soon they will send a letter
clich¨¦ its in collections..
I agree that the best point to do right now is to contact the creditors before it hits your credit report. But simply remember that if they send it to a credit collection agency that they are 3rd party and by decree you do not have to deal next to them at all.

it will likely be quite soon. What you can do to avoid this, if you can't money the bill, is call the Discover and Benefial Companies. It doesn't necessarily benefit them to sell it to a credit agency, and it will crease your credit big time.

Some of the best advice is to run toward, not away from, your creditors. There are payment plan option that can help you protect your credit if you stay in contact. Good luck.
