gain one of those cards that you have to put cash into. it costs a dollar every time you use it, but here is no better way to quickly build up your credit win..it's how i was able to buy a house. I go from 0 to a 790

Make deal on things that wont come off to get the code changed to something positive or at lowest neutral.

dont cancel any accounts

Get a credit card from a dept. store or such, put a couple hundred dollars on it and pay it off right away, or gain a small loan and pay it off right away.

Do not listen to the entity that said using prepaid credit cards. They do not affect your credit what-so-ever. Five months is not long enough to make a big difference on a credit rack up.
