I returned an item to a store which I had purchased near one credit card. In the mean time I have canceled this card. When the clerk went to credit me she said she could merely credit back that card, not the one I have to replace it. Was this just this stores policy, or is that a short time ago the way things are?

Answers:    Unfortunately, explicitly the way things are. It is adjectives practice for companies to credit a patron contained by the same attitude that the company was remunerated. There is a couple reasons for this. First, within order to process a discount, the company has to credit the money rear legs to the same card that be used. The reason for this is so the company can achieve back the service charges that the credit card companies charge for their service.

The second justification, which is actually not considered by the average character is that this would be an effective method of money launder. Someone steals someone's credit card, makes a bunch of purchases, later later returns the item to place the money on their own credit card. By crediting indistinguishable card only, this form of money launder is prevented.
