You can smoothly get them to stop calling though. It's call a "cease and desist" message, and charges them to stop calling or sending you mail. Period. Simply write a one sentence note to the collection agency:

"According to my rights under the FCRA I am charging you to abstain from and desist contacting me about this debt within any way, shape or form."

If they contact you again, distribute a complaint to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.
