Disputed Item, delted on singular one Credit Bureau, what give or take a few the other 2? I recently have a negative charge-off that I rewarded in full removed
I recently have a negative charge-off that I rewarded in full removed from Equifax. I did not dispute this item w/ Trans Union or Experian because I didn't want my mark to go process down by disputing items, so i only contacted Equifax. The compensated charge-off has be deleted from Equifax and in a minute I think it is just fair that TU and Experian remove this derogitory item as okay as I am trying to obtain a mortgage and this is notably affecting my score. Once this get removed, my Equifax score go up over 100 points. If i Dispute this with the other 2 chief bureaus, can the colleciton agency come back and enunciate that they won't delete it from the TU and Experian? Why would they remove it from one bureau and not the other 2, can this happen, or since it is delete from Equifax, the other 2 bureaus have to report matching thing? I don't want to ruin my probability and want to take watchfulness of this matter the best channel possible. Let me know if anyone has any suggestion! Thanks!
There is a difference between erasing a story and fixing a record. If you have a debt, and you pay, the transcription of the debt is not erased. Merely, another entry is made to the effect that you paid. It could be your situation. That said, at hand are circumstances where a history can be erased. One common is the mistaken entry. If you can prove that what the account says is wrong, the bureaus would erase the story.
The mission of the bureaus is to keep information of individuals so bank and others can judge creditworthiness. That is the pretext why they accept latest information when it comes, or why they correct mistakes when pointed out.
If I were you, I would request my credit report from the other bureaus. If the problem exist on their accounts, explain the same point you explained to the Equifax. You paid your debt, the collection agency is duty bound to confirm this when asked. Once the bureaus confirm it, the transcription would be erased/modified. If the problem is not registered, just verbs with your duration. The situation is as if the record be erased.
You need to contact the other 2 and dispute it beside them as well.
Answers:
You have to dispute it near each of them. That's the merely way that it will be dropped bad of them.
Your credit score will NOT shift down by disputing erroneous information. I'm not sure where you hear that but it's totally false.
I have some experience near this i had a small bill taht i compensated back. i asked why individual one credit agency had shown it as man paid. The comp. i compensated said they only hold to report to one credit bureau. Its actually virtuous to dispute items on your credit report if it means accurate info. which will modernize your score as it did beside equifax. my advice hold all reciepts of payments from prehistoric creditors if they dont remove or update your file. certify communication them a copy of the payment and merely send a file that say please update my credit report this debt is remunerated. thats what i did for a few bills i had that companys messed up to notify all 3 bureaus. other get a reciept thats your one and only proof you paid. only mail them proof you remunerated or settled or whatever and they should fix it. it worked for me. correct luck.
