Debt .. what do you feel in the region of this? In the UK on GMTV this morning there's a woman who says

In the UK on GMTV this morning there's a woman who says she brings in lb1200 per month. lb600 go on paying off her debts. lb500 on rent. She's then not here with lb100 per month.

The reporter says, 'but she's in a minute learned to bargain, as she lately got a holiday for lb200 - and for once it wasn't put on her credit card'. She's also saying that she sell toys that her children have out grown.

It is me, or what? Can you do the math here? She won't get more than a couple of quid for second appendage toys these days. The holiday won't just cost lb200 there's adjectives the extras like spending money etc.

I can tell you, if I have only lb100 per month left to live on, a holiday would be the concluding thing on my mind or list!

Something's fishy here!

And for those of you who may deliberate 'ahhh, poor thing she deserves a holiday' - my reply is if you are in that much debt - YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO GO ON HOLIDAY!!

Are we becoming a nation who can't or don't want to live in our means?
Consider the amount of money you spend within interest each month...

How much more could you buy if you didn't throw that money down the toilet?
How much could you save toward your retirement?

$4000 contained by credit card debt, at the typical 20% interest... appx $80 a month in interest. $800 a year...

How many of you are WASTING essentially one month's income every year on credit card interest?

Pay it down... and pay it off as hasty as possible! Don't buy what you can't pay for.
she is a fool

Answers:
You were breakneck off the mark, Just saw that as in good health...I agree, It seems that this woman has her priorities adjectives wrong which is why she got in debt contained by the first place..Yes it is easy to get credit, but it take responsibility as well.she would have be better paying off some of her debt, as she will only spend even more on holiday.

You're right, the maths don't add on up. If she has only a lb100 a month to nurture herself, pay council tax, gas electric, phone, petrol for or bus fare to get to work etc, wow, how does she do it!?.
The reporter must be a prat if they think a holiday is a priority on that description of indebtedness. You stay home, pay your bills and go on days out that involve a flask, chock-full lunch and a walk.
You are so right that we have become a nation of ' must enjoy at any cost'. It will all end contained by tears.
I never saw the program but surely she must have a partner who is paying for this and contained by addition she is probably also receiving child toll credits, and other benefits if she is a single parent. So overall, although these benefits may not be huge they obviously contribute to a higher income of lb1200.00.
I think there should be tighter control on credit cards, i enjoy a friend who as very large debts due to the certainty she has so many credit cards within use.
Store cards are another problem, the APR on them is so high it is crazy.
we are a nation living beyond our means.

look at how lots people have debted themselves up against the meaning of their homes since the massive house price booms. its all going to go t1ts up, within fact its happening to some individuals now.
Good query. How in God's name can she afford it? There must be something that she is not relating us.
Shes got her priorities wrong
WOW - a bargain underground store price holiday -

I'd rather learn to quibble for fruit and veg. a lot more useful. Fish too, they say-so it's good for the brain.
i totally agree with you!
i never spend what i don't have and the lone things i've had a large debt for is a mortgage, if i one and only have lb4k for a car later i buy one for under that, not go and go and get one for lb9K and have then rest on nouns!!

but saying that i don't see how me being sensible near money has got me anywhere - whet i get with my ex-hubby he had rather a lot of debt which we spent years getting out of, work hard, missed out on holidays etc. when the relationship broke down i have to walk away almost empty hand and he kept the house etc, now i have freshly seen him spend lb22k in currency and waste over lb30k on a business venture that he put no hard work into - now he's gone bankrupt and it doesn't give the impression of being to matter to him that he wasted adjectives that money, plus he's getting to keep the house as there be no equity in it by time he'd finished borrowing against it!!
now he seem to have a clean slate and a verbs conscience - i just wonder why i bother saving up money and mortal sensible!
really silly! There are people who absolutely can't direct their finance! Experience means nil for them.
