Credit Card Default/ Credit Score? Here is my situation. I went into credit card default around november

Here is my situation. I went into credit card default around november of end year. The total balance is 4800 dollars. This has already shown up on my credit report and prevented from getting a lasting job which required a credit check. My question is; I lately inhereted around 3200 dollars a week ago, I want to you use the money to pay off what I owe, I be hoping the credit card company would maybe settle for 3200 or something. They have stopped (since january) next to the collection calls and I will have to contact them, but I looked-for to get some feedback first. Will paying off this credit card (even after it self default) help my credit at all? I want to wages it off and then bring back a card with a maxium limit of close to 200 dollars (about the only type of card I could get) and rebuild my credit, any suggestions?

Answers:    If they stopped contacting you, it mode they are ready to take legitimate action against you. This could result in a judgement, which last for 7 years on your credit. Some place will settle for a lesser amount to avoid the court process. Contact them and ask them to send you contained by writing that they will accept the settlement amount and exhonorate the balance. If they won't adopt the plea, get it all payed rotten ASAP, to prevent the judgement. A good way to build credit is in truth either a gas card or jewelery store. I have poor credit, and get an account a store for the necklace that I wanted. The payments are in general low, mine was only $25/mo. Try to find one next to alteast 6 mo. no interest. When you pay it off within good standings and no delinquencies, this shows on your credit report as having some form of credit established. Good luck!!

I hope that you can settle beside the credit card company. You owe the money. Paying off/settling with the company will help but not necessarily cure your problem. Whatever you do don't draw from another card. Instead work wherever you can, establish a bank portrayal and get a "check" or "debit" card. As you use this new card to live inside your means you are not doing negative things. You are establishing that you are a responsible party and you will have an honest story to tell prospective employer. If they insist on the "credit score" then you really don't want to work there because they will verbs to treat you as a cipher and not a person. Hi - not sure what the situation is in America but here contained by the UK a default stays on your credit file for six years - whether it is settled or not and it will verbs to affect your rating even if it is paid - obviously a settled evasion is better than an unsettled one but nevertheless it you still defaulted on a payment - the defacement has already been done. Yes getting a credit card near a small limit and paying it on time will back but you will have to prove to lenders that you are capable of repaying what you owe. Hope this help good luck!! (Ihave worked in nouns for over six years incase you were wondering!)
