Collection agency on my credit report TWICE for duplicate debt. Is this legitimate? I stopped paying on my SEARS card in belated 2004. It went

I stopped paying on my SEARS card in belated 2004. It went to FABCO (collection agency) contained by 2005 and I paid $50 toward it surrounded by June 2005. Now a new place (LVNV) have bought it and I am not making any payments toward it (my SOL is up in June 2009).

SEARS, FABCO, and LVNV are adjectives on my credit report for the same debt. SEARS have it as a charge off, FABCO is merely blank and LVNV has it as current.
Is this permissible? I feel similar to it's triple jeapordy or at least double jeapordy next to FABCO and LVNV.
What can I do to get (at least) FABCO taken rotten?

Answers:    Sears & LVNV- Valid
FABCO - INVALID

Since Sears is a Charge-Off they are allowed to have the address list. But after that only 1 Collection Agency have the right to collect on the debt at any one time, so you can have one and only 1 additional address list.

What you should do is send surrounded by a Dispute to the Credit Reporting Agency(ies) listing these accounts. Dispute both collection accounts, FABCO should not verify the debt since they are not contained by possesion of the account and it would be removed.

Also, simply remember that the Statute of Limitation(SOL) and Credit Reporting Period are two different things. Since the card was Charged past its sell-by date sometime in 2004/2005 it will be on your credit report until sometime within 2011/2012. The SOL is just the time of year of time a creditor can prevail in a suit and would enjoy reset in June 2005.
Only the one debt collection agency whould own the item on their lists. So report a dispute with the credit report bureaus for the other duplicate items to be remoed past its sell-by date your credit report.
