Can a person short a SSN (but with a permissible Tax identification number) develop a credit history ? This is for my friend who is on a dependent visa within the US but doesn't have a livelihood yet (hence no SSN). What does it pilfer to start building credit history so that it would help within the future since relations with longer credit histories are preferred...
