My boyfriend get a memo stating that some change be mortal made to his commentary (it give him the ending four digits of the account). Thing is he have never bank next to them formerly. Is this a scam or a crust of identity pilfering?

It's probably phishing (trying to achieve you to offer personal information). Show it to a BofA rep at a dune and see what they have an idea that. They will probably investigate on their own because stuff approaching that looks bleak on them.

Sounds unpromising. Have your bf move about to a Bank of America and ask for a manager/account executive. Show them the mail and explain that he is not even an story holder. See what they bring up in their system. If he is in the system next it is nontoxic to assume his identity have be stolen. If he is not contained by the system later assume it is a phishing scam and count your blessings. They tried but it didn't work as you guys caught on high-speed satisfactory. Was this an actual dispatch or be it email? If it be email, it be only just the ordinary spammed phishing scam, sent to thousands in the hopes of someone near an actual Bank of America statement will click onto their site. Just delete and forget it.
