There are one heck of a lot of offers out near. Which ones are the best? Please be specific - who issued and what type of card??

Truth is John the best reward when it comes to credit cards is not to use them and if you do pay it stale yesterday!!
You never get anything for nothing!

I have a Discover that has 5% change back on different catagories of items that change every quarter. You receive 1% back on every other purchase. They also have little spiffs resembling if you use your credit card to automatically pay something like cable, cell phone, utilities they'll furnish you an extra $20 cashback bonus. Right now Discover has 0% interest for 12 months and they're highly negotiable on their rate after the promo period ends. They enjoy great customer service.

Oh, and once you accumulate $20 or more you can get grant cards to certain places (restaurants, stores, car rentals) for $40, $30, or $25 if you'd a bit do that than get a check for $20. Sometimes I'll get a grant card for $40 and sell it on Ebay for $35 so I'll get $35 change instead of $20 cash.. I'm a hustler ;)

You can compare a bunch of cards by a bunch of companies all in one spot. It will sort things out close to if your looking for a specific kind of reward (airline, cash subsidise...etc.) or a specific kind of card (student, business, bad credit...etc.) Find one that looks suitable and apply on-line.

For my spending profile, the best combination of 3 cards is the Citi Driver's Edge MasterCard, the Fidelity Signature Rewards Visa, and the Citi Professional card (as calculated by that tool). There's little point for me to manage a 4th rewards card because of the diminishing returns; it's not worth the hassle.
