0 credit card debt? I applied for a mortgage 3 or 4 months ago and got

I applied for a mortgage 3 or 4 months ago and got approved but at that time I had 2 maxed out credit cards the balance were close to $2000 total, I realize that isnt a lot but I enjoy them down to $10 each and plan to keep them within. I am also in the 7th month of my car loan. I am looking to close on my house surrounded by January when it is 100% completed. How many points should I plan on my credit score one approved? It was around 610, what would I have to do to procure it over 650 by November or December? Is that even possible?

Answers:
You should have those credit cards at zero.

At $10, you compensate a service charge of at least $0.50 per month, or $12 per year, which is 120% per year.
Based on the information that you just give I would say you will be safe to draw from your score that high. It does thieve longer for a score to improve but not impossible. You are doing the right things. The rough and ready idea about credit used to be to close adjectives of your accounts but that is not true. The balances of what you owe compred to what is available make the biggest difference. Most lenders like to see that you have accounts plain but do not need them to survive. It shows you are managing your finances well. I hope this help.
Too many factors are weigh to know excactly how many points you will gain, but you are definitely head in the right direction. Owing less than 50% of your available credit stability is key to improving your mark. You can even pay off the balance entirely but DO NOT close either account. Keep them approachable but with little to no balances. Congratulations on eliminate your revolving credit debt!
